Friends, it’s time.
Today is my first day at Reuters, where I’ve joined the Washington bureau to cover the White House.
My new email address is: [email protected]. Add me to your mailing lists! If you’ve added my Gmail to a mailing list, please switch it over!
I left The Washington Post in February and took a nice long break. My sister- and brother-in-law visited, and my wife and I helped them do some wedding planning.
I started refereeing youth basketball games.

I took a pilgrimage to Orioles spring training in beautiful Sarasota, Fla.
I noodled around with this newsletter. I tinkered with what could some day be a book proposal (if you’re a literary agent reading this, please email me!). I met my new colleagues. I caught up with old friends. Our house has a hot tub (How do we have a hot tub?) that is now up and running. I relax and listen to the birds and pretend I am a matzoh ball in a simmering pot of soup.
But enough of all that. Duty calls. It’s time to go work.
What should I know? What do you want to learn about? What should I claim as my new professional obsession?
I want to hear from you. Email me at [email protected] and contact me securely on Signal at jacobbogage.87. And follow me on Bluesky (@jacobbogage.bsky.social) and LinkedIn.
